Neighborhoods/Communities

Most of Main street in Cranbury, divided into North and South Main by Brainerd Lake, is a National Historic Zone, together with Park Place, Scott Avenue, Maplewood Avenue, Symmes Court and Station Road. Historic Properties that have had their chain of title researched and documented can apply for historic status through the Nation Trust for Historic Preservation. If approved, the home is awarded a plaque stating the year it was built and the original owner’s name. Restoration of any home located within the historic district is subject to the approval of the Historic Preservation Advisory Council whose aim is the maintain the historic integrity of each home.

The newest neighborhood in Cranbury is Liedtke Drive, a small area of large homes built in 2005 by Sharbell Developers.

The Woods at Cranbury which is located off of George Davidson Rd, was built by Toll Brothers in 2004, it consists of one road: Shady Brook Lane. Cranbury Heightsbuilt in 2002 by Alliance Homes is also just one small cul-de-sac: Cubberly Court.

Cranbury Greene is one the the larger neighborhoods in Cranbury was constructed by Baker Firestone in 1997, is on public sewer/water and is within walking distance to town.

The Enclave just off S. Main Street was built in 1999 and also is a short walk to the center of town.

Cranbury Walk  a small neighborhood at the north end of town, was built between 1992-93 is also walking distance to town.

 Shadow Oaks Another large neighborhood was built by Garden State Land in the 1980’s. Some of the homes are on public water, most are served by wells and septics.

Wynnewood Estates  built about 1965 is a small loop of 25  homes. Some of the homes back to preserved open space. All are on public water and sewer and within walking distance to town.

Cranbury Estates built in 1960 is a quiet neighborhood close to the center of town.

Four Seasons at Cranbury built by K. Hovnanian in 2002 is the only over-55 community within Cranbury Township. Walking distance to town, a clubhouse and chioce of single family homes ot attached townhomes make this an attractive and afforable alternative for age-restricted living.
